Well, It's officially time! Today seems like Christmas Eve with the Noles kicking off their season for tomorrow. I typically like to type up a long email with my feelings and prediction about the upcoming season. Being the "optimistic" person I am, I rarely get even in the ballpark of our final record so hopefully, I can break that this season.
This season will be a very interesting season. For the first time in probably thirty years, we have zero expectations outside of the program. Many publications didn't even include us in their Top 25. Many of our players were shutout of pre-season accolades or "watch lists". However, My expectations will never change for the Noles. Another 7-6 season for me would be a terrible season and 8-5 wouldn't be much better. I like the recruits and the coaching staff however, I want to see some results this season. First off, i don't see this as being Coach Bowden's last season unless something catastrophic happens and since our last game next year is in the Swamp, I really don't see him ending his career there either so who knows? I doubt Jimbo sticks around for 3 years although, results like last year could force his hand. At any rate, This is what I'm looking to see out of the 2008 edition of the Seminoles:
9/6/08 - Western Carolina - WIN (45-7)--Great opportunity for backups to learn
9/13/08 - Chattanooga - WIN (42-10)--See last game
9/20/08 - Wake Forest - LOSS (35-27)-- 2 years in a row that Wake has beaten us. I'm sorry but, I can't see us winning with so many players out.
9/27/08 - Colorado (JAX) - WIN (35-17)-- We defeat a solid team with return of starters. We always win in JAX!!!
10/4/08 - @Miami - WIN (31-27) -- Payback from last year's stunner
10/16/08 - @NCST - WIN (35-14) -- Finally end Thursday Night struggles.Besides NCST can't beat us without Chuck!
10/25/08 - Virginia Tech -- WIN (27-17) - Payback from last year on overrated VT!
11/1/08 - @GT - WIN (33-19) - GT not there yet!
11/8/08 -- Clemson - LOSS (27-21) -- Too much Thunder and Lightning!
11/15/08 - Boston College - WIN (35-24) - Homecoming-Blackout Day!!!
11/22/08 - @ Maryland --LOSS(13-28) - Cold Night in MD vs. Good team!
11/29/08 - UF --LOSS (42-31) - Too much UF offense and Tebow ends career vs. FSU 2-0.
Since I can't predict what all the other ACC teams will do, I have no clue what bowl or if we make ACC Championship. We definitely will be in picture if we finish with under 3 ACC losses.
